Mr. Ali Hussain Didi is the present High Commissioner of the Maldives to Sri Lanka . He presented his credentials to the President of Sri Lanka on 15th January 2008

Mr. Ali Hussain Didi began his government career with the Maldives Airports Authority as an Operations Officer in 1983 and gradually made his way up through the ranks and was made the Director of Corporate Affairs in 2001. In the same year he was appointed as the Controller of Immigration and soon after was temporarily assigned the post of Director General of the Department of Penitentiary and Rehabilitation, where he spent a year. In 2004 he was appointed as the Chairman of the Municipality of Male for three years, and appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Maldives Airports Company.
Mr. A. H. Didi completed his primary education in St. PetersCollege, Colombo. He earned a Mechanical and Production Engineering Diploma from Singapore Polytechnic and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Transport Management and Planning, Loughborough University of Technology, United Kingdom.
Inaddition to working at the Airport, Mr. Ali Hussain Didi has coordinated the hosting of several International Conferences in the Maldives, which include International Conference on Effects of Sea Level Rise on Small States of 1985, the 1989 SAARC Summit, SAARC Council of Ministers meeting held the following year and the WHO SEARA Health Ministers Conference in 1991, amongst others.
A well accomplished and decorated athlete in his early years and a sports enthusiast, Mr. Ali Hussain Didi is closely associated in various sports circuits around the country. He has voluntarily occupied many posts in the Maldives Athletics Association, notably serving as the National Coach from 1991-1992.
Mr. Ali Hussain Didi is married to Mrs. Aishath Jumaan with three children.
